Branches, "an operator in a box", provides full, lights out automation for tape and magneto optical data libraries. Branches integrates seamlessly with 50 different data libraries and a half dozen archive management packages as well as any and all "local" archive management solutions that use tape. No retraining or reprogramming of these applications is necessary.

Branches, developed and released originally by Acorn Software, has been re-released as open software in order to keep this valuable system management tool from being lost to the OpenVMS community.
