Yeah, I reused a variable when I shouldn't have (stupid Brian).  Thanks 
to Kevin Russell for pointing this out to me.  I've attached v2 of the 
patch and a diff from v1 to v2, which should clean up the segfault.   
This was on a BProc-4 cluster, correct?
