If you want to be stable, I would hold off on Linux 2.6.x for now.
Either the 3.2.6 or 4.0.0pre3 should be pretty solid on Linux 2.4.x.

I'm not going to make any promises but I would expect to have
something solid for x86 and AMD64 in the next month or two.
