Scyld has beodiag which is a small library and command line interface to
that library that uses libbeostat and a simple algorithm to chose the
best X nodes to send jobs to.  This is what is used by bbq (at) and
mpich on Scyld Beowulf systems to determine where to send nodes to.

It /is/ GPLed and can be downloaded from
ftp://ftp.scyld.com/pub/beowulf-components (I think its in the beostatus
directory off of there)
