From the publicly-accessible information provided by Telstra, it appears the upgrades planned for February 2004 will not affect BPALogin users. The planned changes do not involve modification of the basic protocol and only affect people who have been referring to the BPA servers by IP instead of name. Telstra note that it is important that people use their DNS to resolve names for the login server (use 'login-server' or 'login-server.your-state.bigpond.net.au'). BPALogin is programmed to use names rather than specific IP numbers and should not be affected in standard configurations.
