#3 Disable backup, restore & compare if configuration is not OK

Rather then getting error messages such as:

wxWidgets Debug Alert
RestoreFilesPanel.cc(187): assert "pChildren" failed in
_AddChildrenSlow().

wouldn't it be better to disable backup, restore & compare if the configuration is not OK? Perhaps there is a way to "test" the configuration upon entering the date (simply log into the server), and then activate the backup, restore and compare panels?

In addition, if there is no data to be restored from the server (new account), simply show an empty tree control rather than the above assert?
