Chili cook-off gets away with it by just calling for teams - not = necessarily F16 v F18 or Avionics v Visual. Hmm....getting together and competing against another product group that = most of us never interact with....and that's a bad thing? I have seen = that many of the product groups, and even the product lines have been = "locked in" and rarely interact outside their product groups. I for one = rarely know, for example, what the other product groups are doing with = code I only wrote a few months ago. In fact, one of the engineers loved = a change I made that he incorporate into his load. This is not a = criticsm of L-3, it happens everywhere. I thing getting engineers = together and competing is a great thing (can we say golf?) I have = learned more about the company and other products by the interaction = with other people in competitive aspects.
