I agree that it would be much for fun with at least 6 bots and that having three bots that are the same as the bots from last year with a few new lines of code won't be worth it. Perhaps next year we could do it in teams. People might be more likely to sign up if they thought they could split up the work with their friends. For example, I'm writing a pathing routine that would help my bot stick to the roads and rubble, but I probably wouldn't have time to soup up my line-of-sight detection algorithm. =20 Or, maybe the e-week people could put out a low-participation notice and say that people can be on teams this year. I might be able to round up a couple of people in Orlando that would collaborate on it. =20 Bill ________________________________ From: bot...@li... Subject: Re: [Botzilla-discuss] Head count Steve, =20 I will submit mine, but I haven't had any time to work on it. I REALLY wanted to so bad. I might do some work this weekend, but if not I will submit the same bot I did last year, and I may have talked a co-worker into coding a simple submission. Sorry. I might try to work on it between now and next year. Thanks for all the effort in building the simulation. =20 Brent steve <sjb...@ai...> wrote: meo...@ju... wrote: > It is not looking good. I have a way to compile my robot, but no way to test it (i.e. no windows executable version). I'm sorry, I just don't have time at work to play with this and I don't have time at home to put Linux in. I also don't have a way to "make" an executable version, since I believe I need Visual C++. & gt;=20 > I was going to try and work on it this weekend. =09 As far as I can see, we only have 3 contestants - which is looking a little weak. I talked today with the eWeek organisers - dunno what they want to do about it - but my inclination is to cancel. =09 =09 =09 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
