Hi Ger, Thanks for reviewing the text so far. In 2.2, you tell about a small seperate controller etc. Perhaps it would be better to tell that that is an example-setup, because it contradicts with the fact that it should also run on a single processor. => Yes indeed, I should. The only problem is that I did not figure out a system to implement it on one processor in a way that is compatible to a multi-processor setting. I am still thinking about this problem and will adjust the text as soon as I have an answer to the problem. I think it will be some kinda system with conditonal compiling, f.e. depending on the user config file. in 3.2, you speak of Winavr. For Linux, one needs to install avr-libc binutils-avr gcc-avr In 3.3, there is no mention of Linux. (Essentially the same, except for the c:) => I will do a Linux setup myself as well for compatibility sake, so I can describe that one also in the howto. Each machine here is dual booting, so I have surroundings to test it. I will make a clearer distiction between the 2 operating systems. 3.4: I'll maintain the DOC++ documentation, so there is not really a need to install this for other developers. (made a small script) R/W access to the www pages directory is needed on the SF server. =>There is indeed no need to install it. So maybe I better remove that part. But are there special considerations to make when writing programs? Are there special syntaxes to be aware off? If so I can put this in the part of "best practices". 4.1: Perhaps we (read: you ;) ) should create a Hello World function that can be uncommented to test the setup of new users. => Was already busy doing so...:) BTW: The page was locked when I tried to access it; seems that you closed the browser window while editing.. :) => Yes this happens sometimes to me when I walk away while working on it. My laptop turns all black and silent automatically after a while. Dumb as I am, I turn on my laptop when I return..... Of course that is turning the stupid thing off instead of on...:) And so the browser window closes while editing....... I hope our robots will behave smarter then my laptop...:) Greetz Richard |
