Hello, first of all, sorry for the long delay - but as stated in the project notice, I'm currently involved in Projects not using C++ Builder or Delphi, and so I do find very little time for BorCVS. I've uploaded a binary build of the current CVS snapshot of BorCVS, which should be easy to use without building from source - although I think this is the preferred way.... regards, __ /homas On 17 Sep 2003 at 17:20, Michael Polacek wrote: > > Is there a possibility to get an install version of BorCVS with support for > BCB 6? Is there a possibility to get an install version of BorCVS with support = for BCB 6? I saw that there are source files which should support version 6 but it = is very difficult to download all files seperatly. also I do not know how to use this source codes. It would be very helpful for us being able to use BorCVS with BCB 6. |

Hi Thomas Just looking for the latest revision of BorCVS which has support for Delphi 6. I searched on SourceForge and found only the download dated 04-04-02, which I've downloaded before and doesn't seem to have Delphi 6 support. Where's the latest version you refer to, to be found on the Web? Thanks for your help. Dave -----Original Message----- From: bor...@li... Hi all BorCVS users, sorry for the long absence, but I had some changes in my job which did not allow me to spend much attention to BorCVS. This mail is primarly to inform about my future plans for the package. Due to this job changes I'm now not using C++ Builder as my primary environment, and thus also BorCVS is not my primary VC interface any more. This means that my time to work on the project will be very limited - although I plan to keep the project going in the future. Basically the application fullfills my requirements on my development environment - what is missing in my opinion are some tests on other systems. If anyone (the "community" ;-) is willing to send me bug reports, bug fixes, enhancements or any other things, I would be happy to include them in the package. As you may have noticed the sourcecode of BorCVS is available on the CVS repository on sourceforge. The latest revision includes some modifications for BCB 6 and Delphi 6 support - btw, thanks to the ones who sent me the patches for that. So, I hope that were not too bad news just before christmas. Hi, I am trying to connect to the CVS on my maching using the CVS command function : ":pserver:eddy.hounsell@193.195.240.118:c:\deeds_cvs" When the system tries to connect, the password dialog box does not appear, instead the text "password: " appears in the command output window but the "Abort" form is modal so I cannot select the command form to enter the password. When I want to checkout module and set the option 'If no matching revision is found, retrieve the most recent revision', this option will be ignored. The output looks like: cvs.exe - d :ntserver:w2k:/repository checkout -r 1.2 -P cvstest Here you can see, that the parameter -f misses. Guido |

I can give some hints (the gcvs solution, but it works in the same way for wincvs). The solution is to modify the STDIN/STDOUT and enviroment for the cvs communication. The code is in 'AppGlue.cpp' and 'cvsgui.c'. 'cvsgui/common/AppGlue.cpp' has the special getenv code. You also have to take a look at 'cvsgui/common/cvsgui.c* I hope it helps you Kalle > -----Original Message----- > From: bor...@li... > [mailto:bor...@li...]On Behalf Of > bor...@li... > Sent: Tuesday, 25 June 2002 07:15 > To: bor...@li... > Subject: borcvs-support digest, Vol 1 #13 - 2 msgs > > > Send borcvs-support mailing list submissions to > bor...@li... > > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/borcvs-support > or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to > bor...@li... > > You can reach the person managing the list at > bor...@li... > > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific > than "Re: Contents of borcvs-support digest..." > > > Today's Topics: > > 1. Hello! Well, BorCVS currently captures all output (STDOUT) from the CVS subprocess and displays it in it's own window. Theoretically it would be possible to feed in some data (passwords, etc) via STDIN, but I don't know any way to determine _when_ an appcation is waiting form STDIN input, so it won't work in practice. If anybody has an idea how this could work, please tell me. Also, the WinCVS way would be nice to be implemented, so everyone's invited to do so ;-) __ /homas On 24 Jun 2002 at 20:57, Patrick Dunford wrote: > Ok I set up CVS_RSH=SSH. > For WinCVS I already have HOME=F:\SSH and PATH=%PATH%;F:\SSH > > Then I call up cvs with > C:\>"F:\Program Files\GNU\WinCvs 1.2\cvs.exe" -d > :ext:pdu...@cv...:/cvsroot/dunfordsoft > checkout -P > autoexec > > Which I have done by setting CVSROOT in BorCVS to > :ext:pdu...@cv...:/cvsroot/dunfordsoft > > But the thing is, when WinCVS calls SSH it brings it up in a separate > command prompt window and asks for the password. Ok I set up CVS_RSH=SSH. For WinCVS I already have HOME=F:\SSH and PATH=%PATH%;F:\SSH Then I call up cvs with C:\>"F:\Program Files\GNU\WinCvs 1.2\cvs.exe" -d :ext:pdu...@cv...:/cvsroot/dunfordsoft checkout -P autoexec Which I have done by setting CVSROOT in BorCVS to :ext:pdu...@cv...:/cvsroot/dunfordsoft But the thing is, when WinCVS calls SSH it brings it up in a separate command prompt window and asks for the password. You type your password into the command prompt window and off it goes. Whereas BorCVS brings up the password request in its own CVS output window and won't receive input in this window. WinCVS is able to separate the CVS output from input requests as far as SSH goes, and works perfectly well with SSH. By the way I am running BorCVS on Windows 95 on Delphi 5 standard - a suitable enough platform for OSS development methinks. ====================Original Message==================== FROM: Thomas BleierDATE: 06/19/2002 01:07:31SUBJECT: RE: [BorCVS-support] How to make BorCVS work with SF.net CVS server? I have WinCVS installed talking to the SF.net CVS server over SSH. So I tried to set up BorCVS the same. I told it that cvs.exe was located in the WinCVS directory where indeed it is. My CVSROOT I copied from WinCVS pointing to SF's server. This is the output of a checkout: C:\>"F:\Program Files\GNU\WinCvs 1.2\cvs.exe" -d pdu...@cv...:/cvsroot/dunfordsoft checkout -P autoexec cvs.exe [checkout aborted]: cannot connect to socket: Connection refused Exit code: 1 WinCVS doesn't seem to do different but it knows to bring up SSH and ask me for my password. cvs checkout -P autoexec (in directory D:\xxx) Is there something I need to do to persuade BorCVS that it can talk to the server through SSH or is this not supported? ================================= Patrick Dunford, Christchurch, NZ http://pdunford.godzone.net.nz/ http://www.trainweb.org/ferrymead/ |

Hello! Well, to clarify this: In a Listview the first column's data is stored in the "Caption" property, and the following columns are stored in the "SubItems" list. Because of this the SortColumn is different from the subitems index. Concerning the absolute pathname problem itself, it would be possible to use relative pathnames, but to do that safely also in case of source files in different directories a function for mapping absolute to relative pathnames has to be used. I think there is such a function either in the Win32 API or in the VCL, have to take a look at this... __ /homas On 4 Jun 2002 at 22:41, Romain Lecorbeiller wrote: > This part of my mail is false. > > //******************************************* > > If it's right I find something strange in the source file > "TFilesFrame.cpp". > > Line 55 in function "GetFilePath" which help in the construction of > > "cmdline" : > > > > "item->SubItems->Strings[6] + item->Caption;" > > > > item->SubItems->Strings[6] is not relative with path but with Conflict. > > > > item->SubItems->Strings[7] is relative with path ? > > > > > > > > (see line 456 of "TFilesFrame.cpp" > > > > case 0: caption = "Name"; break; > > > > case 1: caption = "Revision"; break; > > > > case 2: caption = "Options"; break; > > > > case 3: caption = "Status"; break; > > > > case 4: caption = "Sticky Tag/Date"; break; > > > > case 5: caption = "Date"; break; > > > > case 6: caption = "Conflict"; break; > > > > case 7: caption = "Path"; break; > > > > ) > //******************************************* > > > > > _______________________________________________________________ > > Don't miss the 2002 Sprint PCS Application Developer's Conference > August 25-28 in Las Vegas -- http://devcon.sprintpcs.com/adp/index.cfm > > _______________________________________________ > borcvs-support mailing list > bor...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/borcvs-support > _\\|//_ ///|\\\ ----oOO---(_)---OOo------------------------<http://www.bleier.at>---------- "For Sale: Parachute. Sorry for the late answer, but I came just back from vacation ;-) Well, seems that the STL implementation in BCB 6 has changed :-( My time is very limited currently, so I think I will not be able to fix this myself in the next weeks - maybe anyone else? As many people I have this problem when I use the interface of BorCvs with delphi5 (for commands : commit <file1> update <file1> and Commit... if I don't chose to commit all files). The command generate with interface is "cvs.exe -F [.]/45555.tpm E:\Test\Unit1.pas" and the error is "absolute pathname 'E:\Test' illegal for server". When I launch this same command line in "E:\Test" the same error appear. But if I test the line "cvs.exe -F [.]/45555.tpm Unit1.pas" it seems to be good. I think that the problem come from the construction of the command. It's the reason why I search information about the source code. I think that the construction of the command must be in the file "TRunCvsFrm.cpp" ? The function (Method) "Run" execute the command and display de windows of results ? or I have not understand this part of program. ( TExtProcess *cvsprocess = new TExtProcess("",cmdline,FWorkingDirectory, epmPlainText,PreferencesFrm->IsNtCvs(), outputcontrol != NULL ? outputcontrol->Handle : 0); try { while (!cvsprocess->Done) { Sleep(10); Application->ProcessMessages(); if (FAborted) cvsprocess->Terminate(); } ) launch the process associate to the command ? ! Important ! : "cmdline" contains the command to execute ? If it's right I find something strange in the source file "TFilesFrame.cpp". Line 55 in function "GetFilePath" which help in the construction of "cmdline" : "item->SubItems->Strings[6] + item->Caption;" item->SubItems->Strings[6] is not relative with path but with Conflict. item->SubItems->Strings[7] is relative with path ? (see line 456 of "TFilesFrame.cpp" case 0: caption = "Name"; break; case 1: caption = "Revision"; break; case 2: caption = "Options"; break; case 3: caption = "Status"; break; case 4: caption = "Sticky Tag/Date"; break; case 5: caption = "Date"; break; case 6: caption = "Conflict"; break; case 7: caption = "Path"; break; ) I don't know if my interpretation is good or if I am tired :-), please say me if I'm in the right way or no. Good night. (Excuse for my poor english) |

Yesterday I have downloaded BCB 6 Trial from Borland web-site. When compiling BorCVS I get this nasty error: [C++ Error] TController.cpp(114): E2285 Could not find a match for 'vector<void (_fastcall * (_closure )(TObject *))(TObject *),allocator<void (_fastcall * (_closure )(TObject *))(TObject *)> >::push_back(void)' What can I do? Well, interesting news... I currently don't have time to look at FreeCVS and test this, but as soon as I have, I'll try... __ /homas On 17 May 2002 at 11:47, Illya Kysil wrote: > > BTW, it's not possible to compile an expert without runtime packages (it > > uses the same process space as the IDE itself and therefore has to use > > the same packages). Hello! As stated in the "Readme", BorCVS currently does not support Delphi 6 (and also BCB 6). This is because I don't have BCB 6 yet, which is necessary to build the DLL with the V6 runtime libraries which are needed for both V6 IDE's. Volunteers are welcome... BTW, it's not possible to compile an expert without runtime packages (it uses the same process space as the IDE itself and therefore has to use the same packages). There was an extensive discussion about this in one of the borland newsgroups. regards, __ /homas On 16 May 2002 at 13:32, Illya Kysil wrote: > > The author says he uses Borland C Builder. Get Delphi 5 install and copy it from there. But... It seems to me that in order to run BorCVS under Delphi 6 it should be compiled with Delphi 6.
