I am having a problem with installing the bootsplash packages on a sarge/sid box. I have patched the kernel with a 2.6.8.1 patch and all options are built in to the kernel and not modules. This is the output =66rom aptitude ( similar to apt-get output as I have tried about 12 times now): Selecting previously deselected package bootsplash. Unpacking bootsplash (from .../bootsplash_3.1-6_i386.deb) ... Selecting previously deselected package sysv-rc-bootsplash. I just can't use apt-get to install the themes, adn I always have the error: /etc/bootsplash/themes/current/config/bootsplash-1024x768.cfg : No such file or directory. =20 I can't successfully use splash to change themes and I obviously can't remove and reinstall the package. Here is the output from dmesg: =20 darius@otis:~$ dmesg |grep vesa vesafb: framebuffer at 0xe8000000, mapped to 0xe0806000, size 3072k vesafb: mode is 1024x768x16, linelength=3D2048, pages=3D0 vesafb: protected mode interface info at c000:c4a0 vesafb: scrolling: redraw vesafb: directcolor: size=3D0:5:6:5, shift=3D0:11:5:0 =20 If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
