when will boost log be officially part of the boost library collection?
I have based some projects on boost log sometime ago with the hope it would be included on day or the other.

Unfortunately, v2 is not backward compatible but in most cases porting will require only routine modifications to the user's code.

Hi Andy,
Can I just add my own enthusiasm for this project as well, I'm finding it phenomenally useful, it's exceptional work.
I am also looking forward to seeing it coming into mainline boost. I appreciate the difficulty of coming up with a date but could you possibly give some indication of how far from completion it is - weeks, months, years? It would be very useful as I'm deciding whether or not to switch to v2 or whether to wait until mainline boost inclusion if it's reasonably close.

There is no fixed date, I'm working on v2 which will be included when it's ready.
Thanks.
Will be it backward compatible with the v1 api?
keep up the good work.

I think v2 should be released this year. The code base is gathering its shape, although it's not done yet. The major work left is the docs update.
End of year is getting closer…getting excited for official v2 release…any updates?
Happy Thanksgiving weekend for those in the USA.
You can watch the progress in the bleeding-edge branch. The code is mostly done and working, docs are left.
