I'm the author and maintainer of BookmarkBridge. I'm conducting an
informal survey of how people use BookmarkBridge and their expectations
of it. Your responses will help future development.
When I first designed BookmarkBridge I envisioned a product that would
be installed on a single system and would merge and synchronize
bookmarks between all the browsers on the system. The user would run it
from time to time to copy bookmarks between browsers.
Many users just want to use it as a temporary tool to migrate their
bookmarks from one browser to another. Other users want to use it as a
way to share bookmarks between browsers on different computers. Others,
like me, run it periodically with all browsers as both sources and
destinations of bookmarks, thus copying bookmarks between all the
browsers simultaneously. Others re-arrange browsers as sources and
destinations, copying and/or merging between browsers on demand.
Unfortunately, BookmarkBridge wasn't originally designed to handle all
of the above situations in the best possible way. Please tell me the
ways in which you use BookmarkBridge. If you don't currently use it, or
haven't used it in a long time, or even just used it once and threw it
away, that's okay. I'm just looking to get a feel for what users are
expecting out of BookmarkBridge.
Thanks for your time. You can reply publically or privately. My email
is kschenke at users dot sourceforge dot net.
