My apologies, the last announcement I sent was incorrect. Following is the announcement for BookBase version 0.8.8 as it should have appeared: BookBase version 0.8.8 has arrived. New in this release: Added menu bar with various items, including a status option which describes connection details, as well as client/server versions. Password entry now clears after a disconnect. Added a very simple graphic to spice things up. Whee. Users can now backup and restore their entire bookbase database. Right now it's an all or nothing deal, but I expect it will grow into a more fully featured tool in the future. Fixed some bugs introduced in 0.8.6 concerning the date entries and the comments field not taking input. 'All' and 'None' buttons now work as intended. Added an 'About' window that gives all sorts of sordid details on the life and times of all 2 BookBase developers. BookBase version 0.8.8 has arrived. New in this release: Added a 'Remove' option to exclude book rows from a search without deleting them from the database. Multiple books can now be removed from the search results at one time. Delete key can be used to remove records from the results window. Multiple records can now be deleted at one time. Results will now autosize columns after every search. Added the oft requested 'Loan Book' functionality. BookBase version 0.8.4 has arrived. New in this release: ISBNs are now checked for validity, but are no longer a required field. A rudimentary printing system has been implemented. Some major bugs resulting in segfaults when running custom searches have been resolved. Reports can now be sorted with incredible ease, and by almost any field. Simple user configuration files have been added. Announcing the release of Bookbase-0.80. Most significant in this release is the implementation of a standard GNU configure script. This is our first step in eliminating hassles of hacking up a Makefile just to get Bookbase compiled. Don't be deceived, there will still be problems; there will just be a lot less of them. Also in this release is the skeleton of printing postscript reports. It is not yet complete, and would require modifying a few lines of code to get it working on any printer other than mine, :) but it's a start. Next release, printing should be fully functional.
