BonkEnc v1.0 released

BonkEnc is a CD ripper, audio encoder and converter for various formats. It can produce MP3, MP4 / M4A, Ogg Vorbis, AAC, Bonk and FLAC files.
BonkEnc supports freedb protocol level 6 (Unicode), CDText and ID3v2 tags. and is available in several languages.

Version 1.0 of BonkEnc has been released today. Reaching v1.0 marks an important milestone for the BonkEnc project. We finally have a stable release!

Future development will continue in two branches. The 1.0 branch will see mainly bug fixes and some minor feature additions. Development of new features will focus on the 1.1 branch which will eventually lead to BonkEnc v1.1.

The following things have been added or changed in this release:

  • added Romanian language support
  • added a user manual
  • fixed crash when clicking "Edit language file" in the config dialog
  • fixed reading of low bitrate MP3 files
  • added CD ripping support to command line encoder
  • fixed some command line encoder bugs
  • fixed bugs in the graphical installer
  • upgraded FLAC to version 1.1.4
  • upgraded FAAD2 to version 2.5
  • upgraded FAAC to version 1.25
  • upgraded Ogg Vorbis to aoTuV beta 5
  • some minor bug fixes
