Thanks for developing fre:ac!
It would be great to have LossyWAV (hydrogenaudio Wiki) support as a preprocessor for the processed audio.
This is especially helpful to save space for lossless audio files. Important would be to set the block size (see here) for the lossless audio format.
Additionally, it would be great to be able to create the correction files. A possibility recreation of the original files from the reduced and correction file would be great too.
If you don't think It is in the scope of fre:ac I understand.

I know about LossyWAV and plan to eventually add support for it to fre:ac. It's not a very high priority for me at this time, however.
fre:ac just recently got support for signal processing components (DSPs), but does not support external DSPs yet. I will add that at some point which will allow tools like LossyWAV or SoX to be used in fre:ac.
