Win xpHome, BonkEnc 1.0.12
Unzipped Bonk. Doubleclicked the bonk exe.
Read audio cd ok, attempted to access freedb with cddb query.
Does not succeed with query.
After this, cannot access the internet with browser until I restart the computer.
Have tried with and without firewall disabled.
I have the same problem with BonkEnc 1.0.13 on Windows XP SP3 with a Netgear GA311 NIC
My gateway is 192.168.0.1 [ZERO dot 1]
most commonly it seems people use a gateway of 192.168.1.1 [ONE dot 1]
Also, I use OpenDns.org servers as my DNS servers.
Is it possible either of these issues are a problem for BonkEnc?
I am having the same problem with BonkEnc 1.0.14 on XP SP3.
I do use a gateway 1.1 and would rather not change it. Is there a work-around?
I don't know how BonkEnc would manage to block the internet connection. It
only uses the most basic Winsock functions to communicate with the freedb
The only thing I can imagine is that your Winsock library or configuration is
damaged (might be caused by malware or some low level networking
applications). There's a freeware tool called Winsock Fix that may fix this,
but it's quite old and unmaintained so I'm not sure if it's still safe to use.
