Tagging extremely slow when album art is selected
Audio converter and CD ripper for various formats

Under Linux Mint Mate 18.1, and running version 20161129, I tried to rip a couple of CDs. I noticed that if you go to Tags->Album->Add a Cover art and then proceed to edit any other tags, the text slows down to a crawl. By this I mean that if you edit other tags, it shows like one alphabet per second or so. And the whole thing slows down and you have to wait until all the text is there to do anything else. Remove the picture and its fast as normal. The picture is not ultra HD or something, just usual 400x400 image.

Thank you for reporting this!
Some of the code involved when updating tag info was written in a very inefficient way. For example, new cover art thumbnails for tooltips were generated on every keypress when editing tags. This was especially slow when editing in album mode, as thumbnails were generated for every track in the album whenever tag info changed.
This will be fixed in the next snapshot release.
Code changes for this are now commited.
This ticket will be closed 2 weeks after the next snapshot release.
Ah, I see. Thanks for the quick update!
This should be fixed in the 20170317 snapshot. Please try it.
Just tried converting a bunch of files, everything appears to be fine :). You can close this issue for now. If I find anything odd, I will let you know!
