    I'm using version 0.5.1 on Gentoo. When I add the mp3 in brasero, I get a GUI error saying that "file name.mp3" can't be handled by gstreamer: Make sure the appropriate codec is installed.

    and this is what debug shows me:

    brasero --debug

    (brasero:20438): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_string_append: assertion `val != NULL' failed

    ** (brasero:20438): WARNING **: DEBUG: gstbasesrc.c(1614): gst_base_src_loop (): /pipeline0/filesrc0:

    Any help what I should do?

      Hi,

      Sorry for the delay. A few questions pls:

      Does it fail to work with all mp3s? If not, then what's the name of your mp3?

      Make also sure that your mp3 can be read by totem. If totem can't, then it's a gstreamer installation related problem. Otherwise it's brasero specific and I'll be glad to help you.

      Thanks

      hi!

      Thanks for the reply. I solved the problem after few times of reinstalling gst-plugins. For some reason it worked only after I found the only guide from BMPx site, as I followed, I reinstalled plugins in a specific order and afterwards it worked, don't know why though. Thanks for the support anyways, great job and continue on a wonderful software!

      This is from BMPx site:

          *  gstreamer
          * gst-plugins-base
          * gst-plugins-good
          * gst-plugins-bad
          * gst-plugins-ugly

          For MP3 playback; make sure you have mad/libmad and mad-devel/libmad-devel or whatever the appropriate package name on your system is installed before compiling gst-plugins-ugly

          * gst-ffmpeg

          For additional filetypes like WMA
