    Hello,

       I'm trying to configure channel bonding with 2 gigabyte bcm5700 card. I've successfyully installed the driver and wanted to do some faillover. I've added "options miimon=100 mode=1" in the /etc/modules.conf but the 2 slave card are in backup mode (NOARP in ifconfig).
      Does anybody know where the probleme could come from.

      I suspect a network probleme because /etc/sysconfig/network is configured correctly (NETWORKING=yes
    HOSTNAME=example
    GATEWAY=xx.xx.xx.xx) but the default gateway is not added after boot.

    PS: I'm running RedHat.
    Thx.

      OK

      I've done configuration by hand to see what the probleme is.
      When I add bond0 it works.
      But then if I just add eth0 as slave card (ifenslave bond0 eth0), eth0 is configured but the NOARP flag is ON.
      If I add eth0 and eth1 as slave (ifenslave bond0 eth0 eth1) then eth1 is use by the bond interface.
      Then if I put eth1 down I lost the connection and the most strange is the log in /var/log/messages:
      kernel: bond0: now running without any active interface !

      Any Idea ?

      Everything is working. The probleme was that, the server get 3 NIC and I was working with the one that was not connected !!!
