#14 Bonding unstable: system freeze, using 6 controllers

Bonding works, but is unstable. No output from kernel in /var/log/messages. I am using the following network controllers.
Two of the following:
Intel Corporation 80003ES2LAN Gigabit Ethernet Controller(Copper)
Four of the following:
Intel Corporation 82546GB Gigabit Ethernet Controller

I'd love to give more information if someone could tell me how to. The system runs fine for some time and then suddenly totally freezes. Looking in the logs after a hard reboot looks as if the system just lost power for however long it was frozen. So whatever the bug is it looks like there is no chance for the kernel to display an error.
