This is great work, Anthony!
The Universal Binary version is the door open to further cooperative
development, which includes porting to other systems.
One detail is missing: with this version graphics are not displayed on
MacOS 10.6 or higher. The reason is that MacOS "Snow Leopard" no longer
supports the old QuickDraw graphics package that is still being used. One
of the tasks that we will complete this year is rewrite graphics in the
Quartz environment that replaces QuickDraw. It does not look difficult,
just we need to get acquainted with Quartz.
Therefore, if your machine runs MacOS 10.6, you can use this version for
projects that do not need graphics and run the carbonized version (2.9.6)
when graphics are needed.
I suggest that once graphics have been fixed we jump to version "2.10". ;-)
Currently I am migrating a wiki on which BP2 has some documentation to a
better wiki environment (PmWiki). When it is ready (in about a week) I
will suggest how we may build a cooperative documentation of BP2,
including suggestions for bug fixes and further developments.
