Bogofilter now supports ACID transactions using Berkeley DB's transaction capability or using SQLite3.
Lesser changes include a change in classification defaults (from bi-state to tri-state classification), documentation updates (esp man pages and FAQ), internal code cleanups (including how long options are
See file ANNOUNCE-0.94.12 for further details on the changes since the last stable release (0.92.8 in October 2004).
1) Bogofilter now defaults to tri-state configuration and scores messages as Spam, Ham, or Unsure. Rather than "Yes" or "No" in the X-Bogosity line, it now says "Spam", "Ham", or "Unsure". You may need to change scripts in procmail/maildrop/etc and in your MUA.
2) Bogofilter now uses BerkeleyDB's transactional capability to ensure database integrity. See file doc/README.db for important info.

The newly expanded tagging of header line tokens continues the effort to improve the quality of bogofilter's ham and spam classifications. It is also very important that you read the release notes (file RELEASE.NOTES-0.15) and then either rebuild your wordlist(s) or start using bogofilter's "-H" (header-degen) option.
Fixes a parser problem that can kill earlier 0.14.x releases. See NEWS for details.
The code for processing multiple messages has been rewritten. Previously bogofilter could process multiple
messages in a mailbox or in a list of message files supplied via stdin or on the command line. Bogofilter now understands Maildir and MH directories.
See NEWS-0.15 and RELEASE.NOTES-0.15 for more detail.
This release fixes a defect in decoding mime boundary lines in all earlier 0.14.x versions. The defect results in bogofilter exiting with a "fatal flex scanner internal error--end of buffer missed" message. If you encounter the problem, you _need_ to update.
Many, many changes since the last stable release (0.13.7.2). See NEWS-0.14 for details.

The bogofilter package implements a fast Bayesian spam filter along the lines suggested by Paul Graham in his article "A Plan For Spam" . It is written in C. Supported platforms: Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris and OS X.
bogofilter-0.14.3 fixes a locking bug introduced in bogofilter 0.13.7.4 (bogofilter 0.13.7.2 "stable" is unaffected) that can potentially corrupt data bases. bogofilter 0.13.7.4 to 0.14.2 only locked one of two data base files in "separate wordlist" (as opposed to the new "combined wordlist") mode, which was the default mode of operation prior to 0.14 and which is also maintained across an update unless the data base is rebuilt from scratch.... read more
