I wouldn't consider it a bug. You can look at the files with your file 
browser. I think Rene would be the ultimate authority to decide whether 
you should be able to view the files if they're not setup for restore.

The "Check Configuration" always tries to write, read, and delete a file 
to the backup share and the restore share. It's not checking that you 
only have it setup for backup, so this error can be ignored since your 
backups are working.
