No new developments lately that I've heard about.
I'm scaling down my efforts since I already have too much work to be done. 
That said, I still use BOBS and I'll keep any changes I make in sync with the sourceforge cvs.

Anyone is free to make changes so if you feel like it you can just jump in. 
As for a new release. Well that is hard to tell when that would happen.
