Maybe your php dba support for db3 isn't enabled? Try this: create a
file in your html directory called info.php. Put this one line in it:
<?PHP phpinfo()?>
Open it in your web browser and you should see all sorts of information
about your php installation. Search the page for 'dba'. My version
4.2.2 of php shows this:
DBA support enabled
Supported handlers gdbm db3
