I think you need to create a json like shapes / 00_keelboat.json with correct dimension.
Hello Michael, you are welcome to provide a translation for boats. The software uses .ts files as it is qt standard. There is an untranslated template file with no language suffix in the source code. I would of course provide attribution during the releasenext release. Best regards,

Hi , There is a world wide active Radio Control Yacht Racing community that uses the 'Boats' software for explaining the rules and for protest situation discussions. The problem we have is that the available boat types in the software are too short and beamy for our purposes such that we cannot fit the boats into the zone in the correct relationship. I have a question: is it possible to add a different background to the tool instead of the white background or the grids e.g. real pictures made from a drone or pictures from google earth? Using the latest version 201908, when I add a mark to the diagram, many mark features are 'greyed' out, such as toggle lay lines, or toggle mark arrow - the only one that works is toggle Mark Zone. My windows 10 is fully up to date. I fell back to the previous version 201307, and the mark functions work fine. John

Hi, I would like to try and build the app on Mac (running 10.13.6), but I couldn't find and instructions on what tool(s) are required. Is it only Xcode, or can Visual Studio be used... As there is already a Mac binary, I'm presuming someone knows what I need to do... Hello, this has been fixed in version 202008.
I downloaded the most recent version and found it to be unusable. Not only are the marks not editable, as pointed out by others, but also I was unable to move tracks sideways. When I clicked and held on a boat, the whole world moved but the boat didn't. I reverted to the 2013 version; all good.

I can't figure out how to use the boats from the menu. They do not appear on the drawing board. I tried to create my own boat but the boat creation menu is not highlighted. Any advice please?
Is there a way to turn-off auto-orientation mode? For instance, say I use the right-click to alter the heading of a boat. Next, I move the boat and it automatically changes the orientation back to the default. This is a VERY frustrating behavior. If this is not currently an option, my suggestion is ... Make the auto-orientation ONLY apply when making the next boat in a series, any movements after that would require manual manipulation Make auto-orientation a toggle at the top of the menu. Thanks...

In Release 201908 on Windows it is not possible to access any mark settings with the exception of toggling mark zone. It is however possible to use an older version to toggle options and then these are displayed but not adjustable in the current release.
