The most stable configuration would be the plug-in you have with an
older version of BRM.
Many operations in the current BRM can still lock up BRM (and the IDE).
I have updated my BRM plug-in to be compatible with the new BRM.
Also, I've moved a few operations into threads to lessen the
blocking and lockups.
I hope to finish this up for the 0.2.7 CVS release.

The saved files *.umllay are simply pickles
of layout information of the diagram, other
information are "live" values from the
structures created by parsing the source.
