Is there a way to move the label of a checkbox ABOVE the checkbox instead of to the right?
This is not actually a Boa issue.
Checking the checkbox docs: http://docs.wxwidgets.org/stable/wx_wxcheckbox.html, only wxALIGN_RIGHT exists.
As Barton said, this has nothing to do with Boa, but is just a feature of wxPython. However, if you really want it, you could create a custom control in wxPython. See here: http://wiki.wxpython.org/CreatingCustomControls. Most (all?) GUIs, though, use checkboxes in which the word is to the right of the box itself, and so it might not be a good idea to break that widespread convention.
As it turns out, I was wrong (sort of) the wx.ALIGN_RIGHT style attribute is not hung on the normal RB.
I'll have a further look at this in the near future.
