#6 Add COPYING file to distribution / copyright headers to sourcecode files

The distribution should include COPYING and each source file should contain copyright headers to reduce the risk to those that are interested in using this library. The only information I have found so far about the licensing of this project is that it is listed as “BSD” at http://sf.net/p/blw . However, this is merely an informative label and nothing like an official or proper notation of the code’s copyright and license.
