My phone is a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic
Distro : Ubuntu 9.04 / AMD64
Thunderbird : 2.0.0.22+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.9.04.1
Lightning/Sunbird : 0.9+nobinonly-0ubuntu2
blueZync/Opensync/mozilla-sync : 2009-07-17 (~22h UTC+0200) svn version
blueZync settings : See screen shot attached

With Jaunty, the lightning/sunbird default version is 0.9, so I managed to follow your "Building blueZync" guide.
One small thing first of all : the needed packages table mentioned a "libxexpat1-dev" one I was unable to find. Isn't there here typo error and the actually needed package is "libexpat1-dev" ?
Secondly let me say that I was impressed to see that the whole build process worked like a charm ! Nice wok.

After all the steps I created new adressbook and calendar
I configured them in the blueZync settings panel plus tried some settings to match my phone caracteristics.
During these steps I have faced with several thunderbird crashes I didn't reported since I finally found correct settings.
Maybe its not too late

After this sync worked. Happy !

Today, Having modified contacts I tried à sync again ... and again.
A window opens letting me choose what to do with differences between phone and thunderbird entries ; I make choices then thunderbird hangs up.

Below are the command line outputs and attached is the requested osync_trace.tar.bz2 with trace file.
$ thunderbird

    Sorry for the late reply...

There has been a number of updates to OpenSync and blueZync, which may have an impact on this problem.
It would be great if you could try to build out of SVN again.

    /Henrik
