Hi Jared,

My guess is that whenever you open Winzip or WinRAR or whatever you're
using, it is set to automatically associate .jar files with that
program.  You can check those programs' options to see if that is the
case.

To run the jar just with Java, you should be able to right click the
jar and from the popup menu choose "Open With" and then select Java.
