I committed the changes for the ZakLineObject. I wound up implementing it as a new SoundObject, which seemed the cleanest way to go. Also fixed a bug whereby old .blue files that didn't store the color information of the LineObject (blue v0.98.4, I believe) would crash when you tried to view/edit the LineObject. In other news, I've made some headway in trying to optimize the CsoundOutput dialog box; managed to get rid of all that messy code that computes the line length and height, etc. Still seems to be slow on my PIII, though. Wow, that was quick! I'm about to check in my changes for the disk render options in a moment. Haven't implemented the renderToDisk function yet, but will do that tomorrow morning (will work on documentaiton for the rest of tonight's blue work I think). I'll check out your changes when I sync up. Hi Michael, I ended up spending the morning just on documentation (geez I hope people read it, 'cause it takes forever sometimes to write it all up! ^_^) so am about to get started on the render to disk functionality right now. So will look to release tomorrow (Thursday) night if you're changes get in, and if not I will wait until Friday. (I'm a little eager to get this one out as there was a bug in the starter scripts that didn't include a .jar and thus made the BlueSynthBuilder not really usable.) BTW: I've been modifying the changeLog to add information about your changes and trying to make it clearly credited to you. Please review if I missed anything about your changes in my descriptions. Also, I think we'll need to add a documentation reference page for the ZakLineObject. I'll try to get something stubbed in for this release, and would be more than happy to do docbook formatting if you have some documentation you want to put in (not sure if you've worked with docbook before). I think after this release, I'm going to try to start putting together some more example .blue projects. I think some of the concepts in the documentation are hard to really explain in words alone but might be easier to demonstrate by creating annotated projects. Anyways, just some brainstorming! Alrighty. I do think the documentation needs some updating, so I'm glad you're on it. I'd be more than happy to do the additional documentation for the ZakLineObject and anything else. I'll check the changelog too. As for this next release, go ahead and do it tonight. The changes I've got for the CsoundOutputDlg class don't affect the performance much (if at all), so go ahead with it. I won't be able to feasably get to work on it anyway, since it's on my computer at home and domestic responsibilities are piling up (not to mention I'll be gone this weekend). Hi Marc, For WinXP, go to the desktop and right-click the "My Computer" icon and select properties. After that, go to the "Advanced" tab and then click the "Environment Variables" button. There should be two tables of variables, one for the user and one for the system. Hi Marc, hahaha - I was just venting about manual writing in general, not specifically about blue users. =3D) Manual writing is not exactly the funnest job in the world for developers I think! As for the environment variables, for the PATH, yes I think what you wrote is correct (I think it should be ;C:\csound5\bin though, but I assume that was just a typo). As a way to test, after setting the variables, you should be able to open up a new command prompt and type this in on the command line: echo %PATH% echo %OPCODEDIR% with your new values echoed to the console. You should also be able to set those variables on the commandline by typing: set OPCODEDIR=3Dc:\csound5\lib and doing the echo afterwards to check.
