I want to balance keeping the distro lightweight with including necessary software packages for the user. I plan to keep the minimal install as lightweight and unbloated as possible while including a small handful of programs in the software pack edition. I want to collect opinions on what should be included for both versions. Here is a list of the base software for both versions (accurate as of 19.04.1.4 on 07/15/2019). Let me know if you think something should be removed or included in the miminal...
EDIT: This patch has been applied and is now live in version 19.04.1.4 So I figured out the problem and I'm going to have it fixed it version 19.04.1.4. Here is what you can do to fix this for all applications if you are on a previous version. "sudo apt install lxpolkit" (Policy authentication agent from LXDE) Right click on desktop -> 'Edit system' -> 'Autostart and MIMETypes' Add 'lxpolkit &' to the autostart file Save Reboot
EDIT: A system wide fix is explained in the next comment down. The process explained here can serve as an alternate method on a per app basis. The system wide fix will be applied to the 19.04.1.4 release. Here is a quick-fix. This will work for any GUI application that needs sudo permissions and can be launched from terminal. Open file explorer as root (right click -> file exp as root). Navigate to /usr/share/applications. Find the file synaptic.desktop (or respective .desktop file for another application)....
Many thanks! I do hope this gets fixed in the future. Thanks again. On 7/8/19 6:45 AM, Louis Rosenblum wrote: Here is a quick-fix. I use synaptic to install, remove and update software. Best solution for me. I can run synaptic from terminal, but when I add it to my favorites, clicking on it does nothing. Is there some way to make this work? Thanks.

I have removed the XFCE window config editor and fixed the directory menu to use the filesystem as the base directory in version 1.4. This release is now the default.
Thanks for letting me know. I'll fix this in the 1.4 release. On Tue, Jun 25, 2019 at 10:33 AM Skoosh Mac skoosh@users.sourceforge.net wrote: Whatever you think best. You are correct, the system uses openbox as the window manager rather than XFCE session. If you want to make changes to the windows you can use any of the options under the "edit system" or "edit appearance" submenus in the right-click menu. If you launch lxappearance (Edit appearance --> GTK theme) you can change the GTK theme and icon settings. If you launch obconf (Edit appearance --> Window theme) you can change the colors and functionality of the windows in the session. If you want to edit the...
