calam 2026-01 not installing
Can we expect Cosmic to be among the desktop environment options for the next ISO?
CalamArch Installer
The system has been installed and I really like it. The interface is beautiful and runs smoothly. The only problem currently is that the DCP-7080D printer cannot be successfully installed. Please all experts and administrators, lend a helping hand and help me solve this problem. thank you! The more specific the installation steps, the better.
I have the same problem: the installation hangs on “Reached target Graphical Interface” :( It's a pity that respected kyknos123 has been creating non-working products for three months in a row. And why not change XFCE to Openbox, the image size would be smaller.
I have a problem too: installation hangs on "Reached target Graphical Interface" :(
Last new iso unable install. Instal crash with err mkinitcpio -1 end installation. I was install kde, xfce anf fs btrfs ant ext4 the same....
Any solution for this? Thanks Even though the inxi is from Reborn it's the same hardware I tried your latest ISO on.
Can add WiFi password but will not stay logged in to do install
I just downloaded the latest ISO to do a fresh install and when in the live environment I enter my WiFi password the connection will not stay active, so the install errors out. ~ inxi -F ✔ 08:54:08 AM System: Host: CCCP Kernel: 6.13.6-zen1-1-zen arch: x86_64 bits: 64 Desktop: KDE Plasma v: 6.3.3 Distro: RebornOS Linux Machine: Type: Desktop Mobo: Gigabyte model: X670 AORUS ELITE AX v: x.x serial: <superuser required> UEFI: American Megatrends LLC. v: FB1 date: 05/22/2024 CPU: Info: 8-core model:...

About your project
Neat, thanks so much ^^ This project is really useful :D
Oh yes, sorry, in the disk erasure option I had never noticed this parameter, except for the manual option. It will be fixed in the next version.
I've tried it with Manjaro and EndeavourOS, there's an option to select the file system directly without having to manually partition it. It was added to Calamares with this merge request: https://github.com/calamares/calamares/pull/1667
What is your problem with this? I just installed on btrfs.
BTRFS option missing in installer
Thank you very much for the quick work! I already tried it, installed it on my laptop! This is the best Arch installer I've tried so far! Everything works nicely and precisely, is transparent and organized! I love it!
updated. new iso fixed, renew again for download
Installation error
Hi Please is it already possible to install again after a long time without problems the Nvidia non-free driver during installation?
Are you sure no passsword on live ISO? I have to install xf86-video-intel on tty. Otherwise it will not boot. I am having always stuck on "Reached target graphical interface" . When I install Intel driver and restart sddm.service I can always boot. So I need password maybe also username with it.
Appreciate the info, but it never use to be this hard. In the past whatever was selected to boot the live ISO was installed during the actual install. I've noticed more than one distro getting a way from that. I honestly would think with calam-arch-installer selecting to install the nVidia packages would take care of all this.
You have to boot with the live calam arch, enter the installation disk and modify the file with text editor /etc/mkinitcpio.conf, you enter the following MODULES="nvidia nvidia_modeset nvidia_uvm nvidia_drm" and saved changes, after open terminal, mount disk-partition on your system with sudo /mnt and arch-chroot /mnt or mount --bind /dev /mnt/dev mount --bind /dev/pts /mnt/dev/pts mount --bind /proc /mnt/proc mount --bind /sys /mnt/sys chroot /mnt mkinitcpio -p linux reboot, if not show login screen...
zen would be nice to have with the appropriate headers for nVidia.
The last two attempts to install Arch using your installed after selecting to install Plasma and the proprietary nVidia drivers once I do the reboot after install it just sits at a black screen and does not boot any further. I see no reason for this to be happening. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The only thing I change is partition.conf to allow for BTRFS as the default file system. ❯ inxi -F System: Host: Unimatrix-Zero Kernel: 6.7.7-x64v2-xanmod1-1 arch: x86_64 bits: 64 Desktop:...
It would be nice to add the option to choose which type of kernel to install, latest or LTS.
I'm using since 11 iso. Really there is a problem with disks with btrfs, but with ext4 is wonderful. I just came here to say thanks. Thank you very much.
Hi. You can fix this by booting your Calam-Arch ISO again, mount your installed root and edit /etc/fstab with root access. In every line of btrfs subvolumes change the option space_cache to space_cache=v2 Thats it, for sure
After installation on the BTRFS partition Arch linux never boots. With ext4 is all ok
I don't have a user password, there is no user password, you can type sudo thunar in the terminal, it will open as superuser and with leafpad you edit the partition.conf
I was just in the latest live ISO and wanted to change partition.conf to use BTRFS as the default file system and could not change it. Normally there is one copy of partition.conf that can be changed without asking to be overwritten and or the password to overwrite. Can you please provide the live ISO password? Thanks
I've installed Arch plenty of times using Calam and I've always had SDDM not LightDM.
