Don't know, offhand, who creates /dev/dvd and if it is universal.
Don't know why on this box the PATA drive was a /dev/sr0
instead of /dev/hdc like it was on a similar box...
But somehow eject(1) was able to find the device without /dev/dvd,
maybe we can figure out what it does and copy it...
Certainly this potential snag merits mention in the current docs.
