Hello all, The final version of 'bltk' (1.0.7) that uses Open Office suite v1.1.4 has been released. It is available for download from http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=3D173830 Here is the list of changes: - Added fields to statistics (stat.log): charge - charging state state - capacity state - Added fields to report (Report): Average Present Rate Average Present Voltage - Minor fixes Regards. Konstantin. |

Hello, 1. We've discussed the network wokload for 'bltk' some time ago, the main problem there is to provide equal test conditions on different systems. So, although we have plans to implement such workload, the release date is unknown. Now, you could try to run 'bltk' with -U option, passing some network application, script or command. For example, ftp upload/download followed by sleep(). 2. C-states in stat.log file are derived from /proc/acpi/processor/.../power file, "usage[...]" field. It shows the number of times system entered this state. P-states are from /sys/devices/system/cpu/.../cpufreq/stats/time_in_state . It shows time spent in state (in 10 * msecs). In 'Report' file both values are present in percents. 3. The power ('Drain rate' in 'Report' file) is calculated as difference between starting and final capacity, divided by battery life time. So the formula assumes that battery discharge is linear, which is not always true. You can see that running 'bltk_plot' tool (it requires gnu_plot to be installed) in result directory (See README and Manual files for more options). Also, examples of battery discharge curves are available in OLS2006-bltk-paper.pdf file from http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=173830&package_id=212238 Regards. I'm having trouble with LCD blanking on a recently installed SL10.1 laptop (T40/Radeon). It blanks the screen even when I tell it not to. I've disabled the screen saver in Personal Settings/Appearances & Themes/Screen Saver by un-checking "Start automatically" In YaST/Hardware/Graphics Card and Monitor Monitor is LCD 1024x768 and I un-checked "Activate DPMS" YaST power management GUI doesn't seem to have a section on display control. CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE and re-started X However, $ xset q indicates that DPMS is ON with standby 600 suspend 1200, off 1800 seconds. when i pull out the AC plug, this switches to standby: 120 suspend: 180 off: 300 $ xset -dpms switches DPMS off, however, it is re-enabled, and the timeouts above are restored on an AC/DC plug event. (such as when i unplug AC to start bltk) I killed acpid, so there are no ACPI AC/DC plug events, but a few seconds after a plug event, X still reports the battery state change, and it still restores the xset dpms values, even though the GUI has DPMS disabled. So something in the GUI is poking around setting this state. How/what to kill to make this system do what I ask it to? thanks, -Len |
