I have a novel idea to simplify the options of orientation and projection.
I purpose that no one will ever use orientations 0, 2, 4, 6, 11, 13, 15, or 17 (to be known as "Set A") with the Cavalier projection. It just makes the sides become super-stretched looking and unusable.
Furthermore, I purpose that no one will appreciate orientations 9 or 10 (to be known as "Set C") with the Cabinet projection. Who's going to want a squiched looking brain? Come on seriously.
What's more, the orientations of 1, 3, 5, 7, 12, 14, 16, and 18 (to be known as "Set B") both the Cabinet and Cavlier projections can be of some use, for one can imagine looking at a peice of paper folded at 90 degrees (ie. Cabinet projection) and then flattening it (ie. the Cavalier projection). Therefore, an option of specifying which projection provides a useful distinction.
Therefore, I purpose the following, ghost out the projection option, when in an orientation that is in either Set A or Set C, and have only one orientation for those orientations. In other words, Set A orientations would only be shown in Cabinet projection, and Set C orientations would only be shown in Cavalier projection. Furthermore, say someone is in Cabinet projection and then starts hitting F2 and scrolling through the various projections really quickly, they would all look right. None of them would look goofy.
I think this would really help make the program more intuitive and user-friendly.
