Hi Jordan, I've switched to Pelican (Python static site generator) for my newer blogs but I'm still running the Blosxom blog I started in 2004: http://agilitynerd.com/blog/ If it meets your needs and you aren't afraid to hack on Perl code to write plugins/customizations there is no reason not to use it. :) I did find when my site got hit with big visitor spikes I had to put nginx with caching in front of it to keep the response time fast/server load low.
