The error was observed with:
bloodspilot-client-x11 1.4.0alpha10
but i think 4.5.4 and ng clients had the same problem
when i used them.
When my internet connection freezes for several seconds (somewhere between 20 or 30 secs roughly), while i am playing on an xpilot server over the internet, the client outputs several:
bloodspilot-client-x11: WARNING: No response from
server
warnings (about 1 per second).
Then one:
bloodspilot-client-x11: ERROR: send (1): (Connection
refused)
On following input (moving mouse) it repeatedly says:
bloodspilot-client-x11: ERROR: recv (1): (Connection
refused)
Then continuous (about every second):
bloodspilot-client-x11: WARNING: No response from
server
The server has obviously terminated connection, but client still tries to communicate with it.
The client hangs then with a black window, apparently
in an endless loop.
To make it worse, sometimes i can not even switch to
another console or Xserver in this situation
(using control+alt+<number>), so i have to reset my
netbsd computer. :( Very ugly, don't know if that is
a misconfiguration of my Xserver or a specific
problem with xpilot clients. Perhaps it has to do
with grabbing mouse/keyboard and then blocking it?
The connection freezes in which this happens, freeze
all internet traffic from/to my computer for that
period of time, so not only xpilot traffic, but also
ping or http data.
On smaller freezes (my usual complete freeze lasts 12
seconds) the client recovers without problems, after
printing the usual warnings:
bloodspilot-client-x11: WARNING: No response from
server
