Heh, I forgot to mention that. As I said, there WILL be proper docs. For those who don't know, all the right hand content is now in the pods folder, and handled by a pods custom tag. This makes it a bit easier to tweak the layout. ======================================================================== === Raymond Camden, ColdFusion Jedi Master for Mindseye, Inc (www.mindseye.com) Member of Team Macromedia (http://www.macromedia.com/go/teammacromedia) Email : jed...@mi... Along with the localization stuff, I'm also adding a simple caching system to the blog. I noticed that things were taking a bit too long to display. On "big" displays, like a month full of entires, I was seeing execution times of around .5 seconds. With caching, I'm down to 10-20 ms after the initial request. The plan is to simply then clear the cache on comment/entry edit|delete|creation. ======================================================================== === Raymond Camden, ColdFusion Jedi Master for Mindseye, Inc (www.mindseye.com) Member of Team Macromedia (http://www.macromedia.com/go/teammacromedia) Email : jed...@mi... I've seen some paper calendar starting with monday, but it's not main= stream. ISO8601 calendars are in use in agendas and some business calendars, = but still, in software made with french canada market in mind, weeks star= ts on monday by default with sometimes a choice to make it start on monday. So i guess we're in the middle of a change on this. Here in Qu=E9bec, even if the metric system is what we all learned in= school for 20 years (millimeters, centimeters, litres etc...), everybody sti= ll uses imperial system as well. My dad won't understand Celsius, and i don't understand Farenheit. I use pounds to mesure my weight and kilometers= to mesure a car distance. Our speeddometers still display miles *and* kilometers. So to resume a long story, just leave the blog-cfc layout for FR-CA l= ike it is, everybody use it like it is. Or maybe two locale would be nicer, giving a programmatic way to adju= st it like the user want it: FR-CA and FR-CA-I. The next update is under way. MS Access now works with Blog. I also made an update which _greatly_ speeds up the default display template. Well, not greatly, but it cuts some crap out. I'm working with Paul Hasting to internationalize the blog code. This will allow us to develop resource bundles for the default display so that the blog can be used in other languages. Dates will also be internationalized (I'm not going to bother spell checking that ;) as well as the Calendar (with Paul doing _all_ the work on that part, thank goodness). If people are itching for MS Access support, I can share it now, but the localization is only partially in, so it's not really stable at the moment. Question: I think it would be cool if Blog.cfc supported two basic stats functionalities - one would be recordSearch(), which would simple record a search term to a simple search terms database. The other method, getStats(), would return... Categories with # of entries per each, and # of comments per each. Top 10 entries in terms of comments. Top 10 search terms. We could also add recordEntry, to record when an entry is retrieved by itself, or even recordCategory to do the same for categories. (And of course, it may be better to just have one recordStat() type method.) Since this is not exactly blog related, should it be included? I'd say no, but it seems like _such_ a useful thing to have. ======================================================================== === Raymond Camden, ColdFusion Jedi Master for Mindseye, Inc (www.mindseye.com) Member of Team Macromedia (http://www.macromedia.com/go/teammacromedia) Email : jed...@mi...
