Hi, I got the source for blogbuddy, when I load it up in my delphi-6 I get this message: "class TCoolTrayIcon not found" Do I need to install an additional package before continuing? BTW, The reason I want to build this is that when I try to use blogbuddy with a moveabletype installation, I get this error when I click on "update blogs": Tstruct.GetString(url) - key not found. I'm sure it's a problem on the MT side, but I just want to see what MT is sending back to blogbuddy to generate such an error so that I can fix this prob. thanks, -joe |

It _is_ because of HTML code. I guess spell checking HTML tags would be too much trouble. Actually, not spell checking HTML is good for blogBuddy. Try the spellcheck with the row below: "theen ÅÄÖ yoour" The spellcheck does not sync with the text in the Memo after "theen". Try: "theen © yoour" Then you get error decoding RPC.... I know Stuffed dogs spellcheck has problem with caracters above ascii 127. I think that one solution is to replace chars above 127 with space. -- jt _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp. |

Hello, I've been toying with the pre version Sigfus just sent and I believe it is a strong release candidate. Still haven't see any problems with it! Just one thing though, that I already pointed out Sigfus: I recommended the use of a red banner to warn the user that he is editing rather than creating a new post, but now I saw I was wrong and that the red is too scary. Maybe just a darker tone of the current window color will do the trick. I think that's about it. []s bernardo |

The simpler the better. Why not something like Palm does with their shortcuts? Define a character that is unlikely to be used as the first character of a word in a blog post (^ may be a good one) and use it as a prefix for the quick tag. So ^:) would enter a smiley. If the string doesn't match any quick tags, no replacement is made. For instance, if "foo" isn't defined as a quick tag, then if a user enters "^foo" then ^foo would appear in the blog.

One bug that I just noticed is that drag and drop doesn't work. I can't select text and drag it to another place in the editor. I'll enter that into SourceForge.

Hi guys and a happy new year. I apologize for not being more active recently but my hard drive crashed, Delphi broke on me and for a while I could not get SourceForge's CVS repository to give me back the blogBuddy code. But no worries, everything is fine now. I'm not sure if I have said enough about the blogBuddy Quick Tags. The idea with quick tags is to save a (quite a) few keystrokes when keying in posts. An idea for a Quick Tag would be e.g. <+smiley+> which would be replaced with <img src="/smiley.jpg" alt=":)"> when posted. This should come in handy for Blogger users who are used to starting their posts with some kind of a header. I initially planned on including this in blogBuddy 0.5 but after giving it some thought I think it should be pushed back to 0.6. The reason for this is party due to programming problems (we probably need regular expressions for this) and partly it's due to the fact that we need some suggestions for the tag markers (<+ and +>). I initially liked it but now I think that it may be too much. So I need your input on other potential markers (<? <% <$ probably won't work). Think outside the box on this one and remember that the tags don't necessarily have to start with '<'. So what *will* be new in version 0.5? This is my idea: * Post editing and deleting * Spelling (this is a real bonus since Blogger has lost it's spelling feature) * Some interface bugs fixed * A few minor bug fixes other than interface What do you guys think? I think it would have been cool to include "authorId" as well, but it's still nice. ;) I just thought I'd mention this to save others the hassle I experienced. My application (wapblogger) broke, because of my crappy XML handling. Oh well. ;) Nik. Hello guys, Boring work kept me away from the fun stuff for the past month, but there it is, mor interface suggestions: 1) Quick Tags (This is the name I gave to our "macros"). http://www.geocities.com/falameufilho/blogbuddy/Interface05.gif 2) Post Editing (I conducted a small user test with friends and co-workers here, and there were several problems with this section. I made some corrections that should solve this problem). http://www.geocities.com/falameufilho/blogbuddy/Interface06.gif I am now working on a image insertion dialog and corrections to the link insertion dialog. Any requests? I am having a rather soft week here, but it won't stay like this for long... :)) []s bernardo ----------------------------------------------- bernardo carvalho : globo.com : aplicativos http://geocities.com/falameufilho (do you rtfm?) ----------------------------------------------- the television will not be revolutionized |

Hi, There is no release date set for 0.5. It will be released when the Macros and Spelling units have been merged into the main code along with User Interface issues. I also believe we should do some minor testing before releasing, 0.4 had quite a few unfortunate bugs mainly due to unsufficient testing. Are there any plans when version 0.5 is to be released? The spellcheck function is working, but it needs some more work and testing. And there is a small error in the XM-RPC lib that needs to be fixed. This is the problem in the XML_RPC code: if (FLastTag = 'I4') then TStruct(FStack.Peek).LoadRawData(dtDate,FName,dat); The correct code: if (FLastTag = 'I4') then TStruct(FStack.Peek).LoadRawData(dtInteger,FName,dat); -- jt _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp |

I have recently come across some odd bugs, and some half fixes for them. (BTW, Thanks for letting me know hes working on it, hopefully, it will release very soon) I noticed that when returning a struct, the last key and value is lost. The parser is somehow loosing it. I made a small change in TSimpleParser.StripTag() which somehow fixes some of the problems dealing with structs. I am not sure if it will help you or not ... Comment out the line that says: sTemp := StringReplace(sTemp,'>','',[rfReplaceAll]); Let me know if you hear anything back. Joseph Engo > "S. R. Hi, I did receive a reply a couple of days ago saying that he would take a look at the bugs. Haven't heard anything since. Yes, I have seriously considered writing/rewriting an XML-RPC implementation but I figured I wouldn't have the time that it would take. Sitting around doing nothing while waiting on some XML-RPC fixes is annoying though.
