The Blob Blog System is going 2.0!

In the release of Blob 2 (Electric Boogaloo), we hope to deliver:
- powerful, yet simple website integration while maintaining Blob's independence;
- intuitive, bbcode-style theming elements;
- the much-needed tags;
- a plugin architecture for all of your custom code needs;
- a unified, feature-rich, powerful control panel;
- more user-friendly installer;
- better security;
- built-in caching;
- documentation, anyone?

For those of you following the BLOB Blog System, you may or may not have noticed that the RSS 2 feed was a little wonky and wasn't technically valid. This was mostly due to a typo in the dates' format.

Also, if you're one of those still running PHP 4 (like me, curse Revolution Hosting), you may have noticed an error notice at the bottom of your pages. This was due to an accidental inclusion of PHP 5 functions in the formatting engine. This has also been fixed.

Now with more bugfixes, a great new theme from t3h933k, more fun tags to add to your templates, and even the ability to use PHP in template files (which you can use for all sorts of fun things). It's almost like BLOB is actually starting to shape up into something cool.

The latest version of BLOB, the minimalist rebellion against WordPress, is out and determined to cram as many features as it can into 300kb. Now your comments can link to comments on other posts, your attempts to edit the HTML are no longer futile, and you get RSS feeds for everybody and everything you can think of.
