It's been a long time since we've made any public posts on what we’ve got going on behind the scenes. So we thought it’s about time we make some time for all of you.
Things have been going well for Bliss over the last few months. We’ve been able to focus on getting things smooth and ironing out any issues on Bliss. Adding a ton of new features like theme accents & presets, adaptive icons, quick tile customizations, navbar & gesture options, quick setting header customizations, and many other UI customization options.
We’ve also brought on quite a few new faces as device maintainers, developers, etc, Since it’s been a while since we’ve announced new members, here’s a huge shoutout to all the new (and old) faces in Team Bliss: p5ych0b1rd, tioburla, mihran, Tejas, Samue Rajan, chandra.chaganti, Nitin Chobhe, Paul Tropea, RevenTech, bengrisdale, Ritzz, Dejan Baric, Harsh Bhardwaj, Alexis Viguié, Azeem Shaikh, Don Berzley, Francis Pilkington, Josiah Ward, Krittin Kalra, Kunal Shah & Louie Montoya. Welcome to the team everyone!
As for development on the other Bliss variants, things have been made much easier for us as developers to work on variations of Bliss this round, and after the initial integration of Bliss-x86, Bliss Bass & Emulator builds. We’ve finally gotten used to the workflow, and progress on most of those projects have been going well. Bliss OS (x86) is getting a good deal of public use, so much so that our downloads server was getting overwhelmed and we reached a bandwidth cap last month. So all those downloads have been moved to SourceForge and the links and updates have been added to our website.
Bliss OS development has also been on a roll lately. Combined with the efforts of the Android-x86 team, and Intel’s Project Celadon, we’ve all been making huge strides in x86 Android development. Huge thanks goes out to those peeps :) We have been adding features and support for many more devices and components, fixing bugs, and making sure we consistently push out updates for everyone. Bliss OS is still mainly maintained by one or two individuals, so there is still a huge need for collaborators and developers to help on the project.
Speaking of website, we were also able to take some time this past month and completely overhaul the site from the ground up. We still host the site on our github for any other teams that would like to use it as a starting point for their ROM projects (https://github.com/BlissRoms/blissroms.github.io). We’ve also updated our Nonprofit page too, and the numbers for 2018 should be posted to the public soon. Head on over to https://blissroms.com to check out those changes and let us know what you think.
We are still on the lookout for talented developers, maintainers and tinkerers to volunteer and help move our open source projects forward. We only require patience with others and the thirst to learn or help. Find the link to join Team Bliss on the nonprofit page of our site.
