Adding filters

    Hi!

I really like Blapp--it looks like it is going to be a great tool for my new blog/website. I do have a question, though.

I saw the option for adding filters for posts, like MarkDown or something. I'm actually looking to use the Blox plug-in for Bloxsom (http://www.enilnomi.net/cgi-bin/blosxom.cgi/dltext/blox.dl). It works great in Blosxom, but I don't think it will work for the purpose of the filter. Being not as familiar with Perl as I ought to be, I'm wondering if there is any way to write a script or something that would allow me to use Blox to filter my input for the preview post? I'd imagine one could write some sort of Perl script that would do just that--but I don't have any idea where to start.

Or is there something I'm missing? Would Blox just work if I assigned it to be Blapp's filter script?

Thanks much for any help you can provide!

Hi, I took a look at blox, and it looks like it's a straight plugin, meaning it probably doesn't do anything if not run as part of bloxsom.

other scripts, for example Markdown, work as a plugin and on the command-line. If the blox author is willing to add that feature, it'll work fine with Blapp.

Also, from peeking at the description of blox, you might be just as happy actually using Markdown. I'd consider it if you can't get blox to change.

      Thanks,
      mike

Thanks, Michael! I took your suggestion and checked out Markdown--I think it is a bit mroe widely used and still in development, so I figured I'd go for it. I don't have lots of posts to translate, anyway. So, thanks much for your help!
