It's rather disconcerting for newbies that Blackbox
will not create a ~/.blackbox structure for them if not
found. At the very least, the following should be created:
The main directory.
~/.blackbox/styles/ and ~/.blackbox/backgrounds/
The personal style and wallpaper directory.
~/.blackbox/rc or ~/.blackboxrc
This is quite a big problem, as detailed in feature
request 1409869. Blackbox won't produce it unless you
use the config menu and change something, but there's
no config menu in the default internal menu! Working
around this requires arcane knowledge.
Again, a rather big issue. The default internal menu
offers just an xterm, restart and exit. At the very
least the config submenu should also be added -- this
would allow people to produce a .blackboxrc seamlessly.
It would also be a good idea to include by default a
submenu with two style dirs:
PREFIX/share/blackbox/styles/ and ~/.blackbox/styles/
(provided Blackbox creates the latter if not there).
