BKM does not convert cleanly to VB.NET. I have not looked into why not, just tried once on a whim when I finally got .NET. I am curious to know other people's opinions about upgrading to .NET (particularly Patrice's). I have no particular opinion, as I own and am comfortable with both VB6 and .NET. BKM will successfully use a newer Jet backend than the one that our distributed copies use, with very minor modifications. We've continued using the older one only to ensure compatibility with people upgrading. With some testing and maybe a bit of new code I think we could adequately support both an upgrade path and a way to export an older version. Help with code and documentation (either or both) is welcome. --Daniel Remenak --- "Chris Kinata [kcom]" <ch...@ki...> wrote: > Hi all... > > I've been using the VB version of BKM for some time, > after a long and frustrating search for a bookmark manager > that has most of the features I need--in particular: > > --MS Access database export. > > --Usable doublet checker. > > --DHTML treeview export > > --Notes field. > > However, if I had the VB source, would like to investigate adding: > > --Better doublet check-and-merge (scripted merging, auto-select for deletion > all links in a particular folder, etc.) > > --Expose a VB Automation object model so I can connect a BKM DB > to Outlook Contacts, Access, etc. > > --Scraping items from viewed web pages (meta tags, text selections, etc.) > > I've downloaded the VB6 source and the resource files (DLLs), > and am wanting to convert it into a VB.NET project, but am getting an > error message that the Common Dialogs unit doesn't have a valid > certificate, which aborts the conversion.
