When I export bookmarks to IE it would be nice to have
the option to *replace* the existing bookmarks rather
than just merge. At the moment I need to manually
delete all of the old bookmarks before I export.
If checked, all existing bookmarks are removed (not only
the bookmarks in BKM, but ALL bookmarks, and only the
bookmarks in BKM are created.
I suppose functionality could be improved by only deleting
existing bookmarks that are being exported, but what's the
point? I don't see why it would be better to (or the point
of) have the bookmarks replaced rather than "merged".

The IE Export has an overwrite feature already.
