I disagree. It would mean adding lots of Javascript to essentially make it harder for the user to leave. Since on some systems/browsers you can navigate backwards with the backspace key, or a mouse button, it would also include trying to get into the user's keyboard. Way too intrusive, in my opinion.

However, if there were links away from an edit form within that form or very close to it, that would be a bug and should be addressed. For instance, if the user writes a page and clicks on a link to upload an attachment, if that would lead to another page to upload attachments, that would not be ok.
