I have a Palm ...how would I disable? I also am using Netgear router...would
that do anything? I am like a a very geeky newbie. Always trying things but
somewhat novice-like. Worked in the Internet business for 10 years in tech
support and customer support but still usually know just enough to get
myself in trouble:) I will be 52 next week. Unusual:)

That usually means some other program is using com3.

Are you running a Palm or PocketPC sync program that is grabbing
the port?
